DFA Apostille Authentication is the official process of certifying Philippine-issued public documents for use in foreign countries that are members of the Apostille Convention.
Since May 2019, the Philippines has used the Apostille system, which replaced the traditional "Red Ribbon" authentication. Once a document is apostilled by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), it no longer needs to be authenticated by the foreign embassy of the destination country (if that country is also an Apostille member).
